Powerful Question:  Want to hear more powerful questions?

New Life Community Church (Chicagoland) Ready for Coaching?

This is Pastor Al Garcia, New Life Community Church.
He's talking to these women about making some bold declarations.

On the last Saturday in February, Pastor Al Garcia and many other pastors met with over 200 + women at an event called Encounter in Chicagoland.  Lives were transformed and declarations were made.   A special Encounter price is being offered for follow up coaching.  Want to create action plans that will help the declaration continue to live on throughout your life time? I'd love to help.

Leadership

Leadership:  it’s not necessarily about position or title; it’s about an ability to positively influence the other.

This is Nancy Branton and Cheri Maben-Crouch.
Nancy is a a very influential leader in the human resource management and leadership coaching world.

Human Resource Manager

Every person who manages another person is a human resource (HR) manager.  Welcome to the world of HR.

Powerful question:  You are a leader.  What can you do to build better relationships with the people that follow you?

Conversation

A single conversation with a wise person is worth a month’s study of books

-Proverb

Curious?

You might be surprised to know that how a partner responds to our positive events is more important to feeling valued, cared for, and understood than how a partner responds during difficult times.

Todd Kashdan, Ph.D. pg. 104 of his book, Curious?  Harper-Collins Publishers.

Source of Good  - Positive – Stuff

One hundred percent of the good, positive stuff comes from God.

-Zig Ziegler, motivational speaker

Quite humorous:  Laugh out Loud!

I can’t stand people who are intolerant.

Experience –  is a Teacher

Everything that happens to you is your teacher.  The secret is to learn to sit at the feet of your own life and be taught by it.

-Polly Berends

Wearing the Wrong Lens

The other day a friend came to my house and said, “I’m late.  I picked up my mother’s glasses by mistake and then started driving over here.  They are a bit off and so I had to drive slow.”  I was laughing thinking, “What?  How does that work?”   Wouldn’t it be difficult to look through someone else’s lens?  But this made me think of how I’ve been influenced by all that the people who are around me and what they’ve taught me. It still influences my world today.  It’s a different kind of lens.  And sometimes I look through it.

Powerful questions:  Do you repeat others’ negative patterns? What can you do to open your eyes to new ways of seeing and doing?

Conversation -- Listening Versus Speaking

The hallmark of a good coach is they listen more than they speak.  The other day a woman at an organization said, “Oh, you’re just what we are looking for – a consultant.”  I said, “Oh no, you’ve misunderstood.  I’m a coach.”  Coaches don’t give too much expert advice. They don’t lecture teach.”  I said, “I listen and help to facilitate “your” thinking processes. And you solve your problems.”  Sometimes I have to be conscious and put on my coach hat and tell myself silently, “listen, listen.”   And when you listen, “Oh my, you learn so much!”

Powerful question:  Have you heard someone say, “Look, I need to go and realized, “Oh my, I was talking too much?”   Can you silently tell yourself, “Listen, listen?”
