Wearing the Wrong Lens

The other day a friend came to my house and said, “I’m late.  I picked up my mother’s glasses by mistake and then started driving over here.  They are a bit off and so I had to drive slow.”  I was laughing thinking, “What?  How does that work?”   Wouldn’t it be difficult to look through someone else’s lens?  But this made me think of how I’ve been influenced by all that the people who are around me and what they’ve taught me. It still influences my world today.  It’s a different kind of lens.  And sometimes I look through it.

Powerful questions:  Do you repeat others’ negative patterns? What can you do to open your eyes to new ways of seeing and doing?
